Oil Painter’s of America 7th Annual Great Paint Out

Description of Locale: Burritt Museum sits atop the beautiful Monte Sano Mountain overlooking Huntsville, Alabama. The grounds of this museum are perfect for plein air painting and include sweeping vistas of the valley and the skies, along with historic buildings including a mansion, barns, a dog trot, and even a historic white church. There is also a small working farm with animals including sheep, a cow, miniature horses, goats, and hens and roosters. Volunteers are dressed in period clothes and the grounds vary from wooded to immaculate landscape in the traditions of the south. There is something for the eye at every turn!
There is convenient free parking, a gift shop with drinks for sale, covered areas and trees for shade, walking paths and restrooms.
Helpful Info: A Check In Table will be located at the front of the entrance Center. You will receive a map of the grounds, historic info, and show info (see below). An artist meet and greet will be held from 3:00 – 3:30. Complimentary water and snacks will be provided at that time.
Bring all your own painting supplies, drinks, sunscreen, a hat, snacks and plan to have a beautiful day on the mountain!
SPECIAL SHOW in Conjunction with the Paint Out: Burritt Museum will host a Wine and Cheese event to the public and its members on Friday, September 16…All participating artists will be invited to display one painting created during the event. You will also have the option to sell these pieces at a 70% artist/30% museum commission split.. Detailed information will be emailed to you and also distributed the
day of the paint out.
